I'm planning to attempt by partially suspended hanging but I don't know what to use as the anchor. I don't have a metal bar in my closet. Does anyone have suggestions?

Door? Tie the rope around a towel, throw it over the door and shut it (so the towel prevents the rope from slipping free).

How you decide to do it is up to you, but for me, based on a couple of tests, it's like this:
*Find carotid artery with fingers
*Tie rope to door handle
*Loop rope over door
*Stand on stool, put head in noose
*Tighten noose, placing knot near carotid artery
*Step off stool, bend knees, push forward so pressure is against carotid artery
*Pass out in approximately ten seconds
*Find carotid artery with fingers
