Rather than leave a physical note to be found when I am dead, I have decided to make a series of voice recordings explaining my decision and all the supporting details.
One reason for this is that a note with the same amount of information would become a small book. Another reason is that it is easier for me to convey the raw thoughts in a recording of my voice than in writing, because I tend to edit my writing heavily. I want my family and friends to have a solid picture of what has been going through my mind for the last 4+ months (we're still 2+ months out from the planned date). I recorded the introductory recording a few days ago, laying out the plan for future recordings. I plan to have some basic notes with me during recording to make sure I hit the points that are most important.
Otherwise, as of last night, I have completed the final major preparations to die. Now I will just keep waiting until the final sunset fades.

It's understandable as to why you would rather leave voice recordings. It sounds like it could potentially act as a form of closure for those left behind. I hope that when the time is right for you to leave, you find the freedom that you wish for.

Actually this is an excellent question I've never asked myself before.
I can personally express myself in a much more coherent and stringent way with writing.
Yet I guess for my loved ones it could really help to have something to remember my voice with while also listening to relevant (at least I hope it'd be relevant) stuff.

But in the end why not do both ?

I am planning to die outdoors, in a location where people almost never go that is not visible from a distance. I will schedule an email to emergency services with information on where to find my body that will be sent several hours after I take the SN. The goal is that whoever finds my body is looking for it. In that scenario I see no need for a physical note at the scene as it will already be known what happened.

I think voice and/or video recordings would be great to give closure to friends and family and whatever.
