(i added the emphasis)
god this passage infuriated me
"No one's saying she wasn't feeling pain. Not pain good enough to go and end her life. She had a lot more life to live and give," Royal told the outlet. "She was just in a dark time. She wasn't terminally ill or, in my opinion, ill enough to go and do this and leave our family behind like that."

Seems that she knew what her family's response would be so took measures to circumvent that situation.
Quite a gamble with £15k at stake. Idk for sure but I don't think you get a full refund if your application is rejected? But I suppose one persons life savings is another persons spare change and we can't know here.
Sounds like she was determined though and so got what she desired herself. RIP.

She was 58 years old, that is enough time to make a decision as to whether you've had enough of life. I feel bad for the family, but she most likely didn't tell them because they would of tried to stop her from going and i don't blame them. However, if you want to act like that, you won't get to accompany your loved one on their final journey.
At the end of the day, it was her choice. Looks like Pegasos isn't caving into the media pressure.

Why did she say nothing to her family? It's just because she knew they are not supportive enough and would interfere with her finding the relief she was seeking for. And now they are complaining to Pegasos instead of appreciating that the organization provided her with what she really wanted.
I'm sorry they lost her. But they've done everything wrong.
I hope she is released from all the pain and at peace.
