This was my setup but closer to the edge, so my feet could be on the floor, and I was facing into the bunkbed. I had a slip knot around my neck. And to anchor it I just used the belt buckle. Used socks to pad my carotids. I put my hands on the bed to support myself, (I think, I might have taken my hands off, my memory is a bit blurry), bent my knees down, moved my feet back. Didn't feel pain but obviously it was uncomfortable. I remember thinking "one missisipi..two..." and then I must have lost consciousness because the next thing I know, I'm waking up on the floor with the belt around my neck, the broken buckle lying there, and my knee and head hurting where it hit the ground. I was unable to get up for a few seconds because disorientation? Then I feel fine now but my head is a bit fuzzy.
Here is my problem: clearly I can't use the buckle to anchor. My anchor point itself is strong, its an iron bunk bed with no chance of falling or breaking; the issue is just in the way I secured the belt. Tying a knot would work better, but I don't know how to tie a knot with the belt itself. Its too short and lumpy and hard to tie a secure knot. It would be easier with a rope. But I'm not sure what kind of rope to use.

Can someone please take a look and help me choose? Or anything else is fine too, on amazon preferably.
