I am registered as an organ donor and it warms my heart that my death may save someones life / have an overall greater quality of life (I am very aware of the slim chances of that as written below), though I suppose that was unnecessary since I found out recently in the UK you are automatically an organ donor if you are an adult - but I want to hear what other people on here think about organ donating.
Little side question for people who say yes, do you try to pick a method that would increase the chances that your organs are available for donation?
Regardless of method there is obviously still the issue of cell death as a result of lack of oxygen rendering your organs unsuitable for recipient donation (maybe usable in research though) and if the need for an autopsy arises that cell death will most certainly be too much for something usable in another persons body. So, this has been in the back of my head as a lesser, but still present reason for my decisions with what method to choose (in particular partial hanging), and it saddens me that if I take SN a very large portion of my organs will instantly be unfit for donation to a recipient, alongside the previous mentioned issues.
Realistically the only method that you'd reliably be able to donate your organs with is physician assisted suicide, however I still want to hear peoples thoughts on this topic as more of a if on the very small chance your organs are salvageable would you want them to be donated?
