I'm trying to think of a good excuse to buy a tank of nitrogen. On this forum they say "oh im just making beer" but honestly you can make beer without nitrogen so idk how I could make a believable story. I'm a woman 29 btw. I probably look stupid going to a welding place anyways. What story is good then?
Also, I'm conflicted where to do this. I currently live with my parent and I use my moms car when I want to go somewhere. I usually live in a different state and I left my car at my sisters house. So borrowing my mom's car to a hotel doesn't look too good. That's why I've seriously considered just doing it at home in my bedroom. I'm an asshole for considering this cuz then my parents would be the one to find me, with a bag over my head connected to a gas tank. Im a total selfish asshole if I do it at home. Anyone have opinions on me doing it at home and help me with cover story

personally i wouldn't do it at home if i lived with my parents. your mom finding your body is much worse than her car being taken to a hotel in my opinion. as for the nitrogen excuse i dont know what else nitrogen is used for so i dont think i can help in that regards but im sure other members can.

I just picked mine up. I called first and said I was buying a Vday present for my partner and had no idea what I was talking about but did they carry food grade nitrogen? And that my partner was clear I should not get "beer gas" whatever that is. (It's 75%N2 25% CO2 and you definitely don't want that!) I said food grade just to make it sound like I had been given specific instructions. I continued to play dumb and asked them if this was safe to transport in my car (yes). I asked for a 20 or 40 but all they have are 60s!! So then I asked if I could lift it etc. Also threw in "does this stuff expire?" (No). It went great, I drove over and voila it is now sitting in my house. The size adds a challenge for getting into hotel room but I didn't want to screw around calling other places looking for a smaller one. HTH!

Nitrogen can be used in the food industry. There are several grades of N gas.
One is 'Food Grade"...it is 99% pure. It costs more....but the main cost is the cylinder.
So don't be shocked by the total price...its the cylinder. The cost of the gas is about 5% of the total cost.

I told them I was using it for computer motherboard experiments.
But saying it is for Food preparation is a good one as well.
Its used all the time in that industry.

Sizing of the cylinder is another consideration.
If this is for a exit hood or bag system.....a large cylinder is ideal (imo).
As big as you can afford....80cf is a good size. It might cost $300 or more.
Like mentioned above, the gas itself is not a cost issue....its the cylinder.

If one is interested in the different setups that use N gas...pm me

Final exit advises 20 cubic foot tank. Also constructing Exit bag using large turkey band and sweat/headband. Do you know how to assemble Exit bag. Tried rolling like book said but it is bunching up and coming off as bag so big. I need visuals

Yes, but I think a 20 cf cylinder is the bare minimum. If one can get a larger cylinder, then all the better.

There are videos about making hoods. https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/exit-bag-construction.179299/

There are also manufactured hoods as well.

Another note—there are aluminium tanks and steel tanks. I didn't know this when I bought mine. It's steel and a 60. It is hard but not impossible to lift. I don't think I'd be able to lift an 80 unless aluminum. Also from everything I've read 40 is more than enough. My store didn't have 40 so I got 60.

Many, many resources demonstrating the bag. I am also visual. I found everything I needed here and on internet searching. You have to tape the bottom after you fold it up twice, then put in the elastic.

The final exit book advises smallest tank at 20 and that's what I ordered in aluminum and now am freaking out reading this. Is aluminum okay? Had to get most stuff in US. So hard. Also the book advises making exit bag using turkey bag and sweatband rolled up but am having trouble doing this as the opening of the bag is 19 inches and sweatband is around 5 inches. I am pretty cognitively impaired and freaked out as it is. There are no videos. Do you tape tube to front bag or side inside the bag? Does nitrogen smell? Someone was supposed to help with this but is not..also was told to put regulator valve at 30 instead of 15. Some people wear ear plugs. Do people sit in chair or prop up on sofa ornin bed? When one tests do they test with nitrogen? How much does one really need if test using 20 tank?

Aluminum is fine, it's a lot lighter and I wish I had it. PPEH does say 20, some of us are just overpreparers. Your sweatband is too small, dump it. You need to buy elastic cord and toggles, follow PPEH, thread the cord through the taped off portion. The hose just needs to be inside, doesn't matter where you tape it. N2 does not smell although my tubing does:(
Read tiredhorse's thread from 2018. You will be able to search after you interact long enough with the site, you get granted that privilege after a certain number of posts/reactions. Best wishes to you.
(The sweatband is an extra thing you can use on your neck AFTER the bag is on. The idea is to reduce areas where ambient air can get in. It would have to be big enough the stretch over your head. You don't have to have it and I suppose you could just use a scarf although I've never seen that discussed anywhere. )

What type of elastic cord and toggles? How long and wide elastic? How do you attach toggles? I am so ill and cognitively impaired. Where do I buy this? What is PPEH? Are there videos? I am in Canada. I read somewhere the elastic cord and toggles didn't work for them. I don't know how to navigate this site and am getting more ill. At this time Incan only get 20 for the tank? Is that enough? Do people pre-test?

add https:// in front of below....
vk.com/video278363265_171054745

page 64 -69

(scribd.com/document/692088580/ExitBag)

75LD 2818 LDPE (plastic) bag. Is a 28 x 18 inch bag, that is 75 microns in thickness.
75 microns is the same as 3 mils.

The instructions show cutting off about 180 mm or 7 inches of the open end...so a 21 x 18 inch bag would work as well.
