Last night at least 16 people were killed in South Africa due to inhaling nitrate oxide. The victims lived in shacks surrounding the area where the leaking gas cylinder was found. Seems like some of them went in their sleep.

Nitrate oxide is apparently used in illegal mining activities.

I searched the forum for "nitrate oxide," but couldn't find anything. Is this a possible way to ctb?

Do you have a link to the article? There is no "nitrate oxide" there is Nitrate (NO3-) Nitrite (NO2-) they are ions. The article probably talks about Di-Nitrogen-Oxide (N2O) and Nitrogendioxide (NO2), these ones are gases that are poisonious.

A much more peaceful death than the alternatives there.
Did you ever inhale concentrated NO2 (Nitrogendioxide)? That's not peaceful. However N2O could be more or less peaceful as this gas does not irritate the body while breathing.

Sorry. I think I mistook it for the Nitrogen gas commonly recommended for CTB.
