Anyone discover some music that has inspired you to finally go through with things?

For me, it's YonKaGor. They make music dealing with personal traumas, and have multiple songs about suicide.

"I shall now accept the fact that I'm a failure (you're a failure)
'cause I'm so afraid the future might be scarier (it is scarier)"

For me it was "Life worth Missing" by Car Seat Headrest, and honestly any of their songs just feel so disturbingly comforting. Oh and "King's Crossing" by Elliot Smith, I feel like this song is more directly related to suicide and death than the other one, either way I find both songs are quite emotional and relatable - at least from my point of view :ahhha:.

Mili's music resonates with me deeply, especially their exploration of darker themes. It helped me through a lot of hard times, always being there with me, keeping me grounded.

Their song like "DK" captures that ache of invisibility, "I'm rotting inside my shelf, left behind—left to decay" and questions like "Will you miss me if I take a leap?". Implied, but clear enough.

But my fav lines from them is "So many resources keep me alive, yet i dont even step outside. So many resources keep me alive, yet i don't even bother to survive.", from their song called "Vitamins"

I have lots of other songs from them that really inspire me to go through with things, but it'll be a long list. Their songs are unsettling, but that's why they comfort me.

I think there's a lot of music I like that could fit what you're saying, but this one is pretty special to me - I really resonate with it.

I was also going to mention CSH, I think half their catalog fits the bill :P

I'll throw in Black Country New Road, maybe Science Fair as my top choice. Their stuff, especially from the first album, is just so dark and frenetic even if it's not about death. No surprise at all to time that the original lead singer had serious mental health issues.

I don't really care what the artist meant to convey. When I hear these lyrics the picture it paints for me is someone who makes it to the edge of a bridge but can't get over the SI to jump, even if their friends already have. The "stage," it's like a performance and they've got stage fright. They try to seem like a normal person by hiding their feelings but in the end they cant, and choose to die. If they can't do it, they want their note to be burned to hide what they were about to do.

I agree with a lot of people here about car seat headrest. I had to stop listening to his music alltogether when I was trying to recover for a long while just of how fuckin defeating the lyrcs felt. Relatable, sure, but I don't want to have to listen to that wimpy fuck screaming he's giving up at me. I love him tho

For me right now it's jason molina's Get Out Get Out Get Out and the Purple Mountain's album in its entirety pretty much. RIP David Berman

The second time I tried to kill myself it was winter. It was the coldest night of the year, around -30F. I went out to the lake at the edge of the forest and stepped out onto the ice until I could see and feel the cracks and soft spots. I started to undress because I was going to jump in and get hypothermia. I threw my clothes on the ice. But I heard people nearby talking about what I was doing and asking why a person was out there on the ice. I didn't want them to call anybody or try to stop me. So I had to pull away from the water and put my clothes on and leave. I walked home colder and emptier than I had ever felt in my life. I went inside and made a cup of tea and pretended I had only gone for a walk. I couldn't feel my feet for days.
It was only months later after the psychosis ended that I realized no one was there to stop me that night.
Anyway, this is the song I had listened to on repeat for days until I went out and tried that. Areas of fog after midnight.
