A random person can just be minding their own business someday and find themselves in some horrible accident that costs them their life. When I look at it that way it kind of makes me less afraid to go by my own hand, sure hanging could be painful for a while but is it really worse than having your life snuffed out in some horrible manner you could have never forseen?

In a way, it's easier for people to accept a random death than a suicide. I would prefer to die by my own hand so I could have all my affairs in order but a sudden accident would be so much better for my family to come to terms with.

Or even worse, live through the accident and have to endure the pain and suffereing. And being too incapacitated to CTB or do anything else about it.

Agreed. I've been looking for methods to 'accidentally' ctb and jeez, it's not easy. I know that I don't want to live any longer, but the simple thought that my family would find out that I committed suicide... I just can't do this. So yeah, planning your own death for it to look like a random accident is very tricky. All the 'methods' have unfortunately their downside.
