If I do it away from home, like in the woods or a hotel, are the police still going to feel the need to bust down my door and go through all my shit at home?

I intend to lock up my room at home and leave notes, instructions, a will etc inside and send a delayed text to family telling them what's up.

Ideally, they get the text around 24-48 hours after I'm dead (long enough for me to cancel it if i fail) and are free to do with my crap what they will, but given my identity will likely be discovered long before that if it's in a hotel, the first responders will know my adress right away. I have a few things that I don't want "the authorities" getting anywhere near and if they read the notes in my room, then it's all over.

So, thoughts?

Interesting points. I was leaning towards home for an attempt but you make a good case for using a hotel. At home you can take more time to set things up and wait until you are tready and hotel lkocks you into a ceratin time frame, but your reason for using a hotel make sense, so I'm not sure which way I will go with.

That's the question though. Will the police/whoever still feel the need to enter my home even if it's not the scene of the "crime"?

I thought I might do it in a shed in my backyard too, but the same problem still applies.

There will be some level of investigation regardless, depends how busy they are I suppose but they will go to where you live and have a little snoop that is for sure.
