First off, I highly discourage risking jail time over something like this if you are able to obtain the meds legally. A few weeks ago, I knew someone who was really desperate trying to find a way to get Meto without a prescription. They didn't want to see their doctor, had thought about going to their local CVS Minute Clinic but just didn't have the funds for that, plus they are on their parent's insurance. After some research, they found that Meto is a commonly used drug for dogs and cats, and can be prescribed by a veterinarian. There are plenty of websites in the US that do online mail order prescriptions for pets. They simply put in the order for the Meto and listed their own phone number as the Prescribing Vet's number. The site called in order to verify the prescription, which is odd and could easily be scammed. All they had to do was lookup a Veterinarian near them, use their name (impersonation of any kind of doctor is obviously illegal) and use their state's licensing lookup website to verify the license number of the Vet they claimed they were. Again, this was a highly risky gamble for them. But the Meto was delivered.
