Met a rare specimen of the human race today, a.k.a. a good therapist

Very kind and wise. And knows how to delve into things.... I hate those therapists who when I walk in stare at me expectantly for about a minute. What the hell am I supposed to say? I'm not good at talking. But talking with this guy is easy.

Anyway, just wanted to share this. I think he deserves a prize.

I am so happy for you! In my experience, there are quite a few good psychiatrists out there, but finding one that is good that you also have the right "chemistry" with is rare. Not a good talker myself, especially in a setting like that, so I 've spent many dreadful moments of silence in the therapist office. Hope it will give you some relief!

Aww my @therhydler i am so pleased :-) It makes all the difference when the person helping you treats you like a real person and you can respond normally and get something out of the time there. Thank goodness you ditched the Lavenderian.

and it's really kind that you posted this thread as I think it gives hope to anyone else who has had a bad experience with one therapist that there may be another one out there who is actually human. Xx

Really pleased for you. Therapists are always a gamble, as is anything involving the human species. I hope he can arm you with the tools you may need to gain a better quality of life. I wish you the strength required to endure harder moments that crop up in therapy.
