If anyone wants me to expand on anything in particular, let me know, happy to do so. Please keep in mind this was a message to another user and therefore isn't totally perfect. I'm happy to add in the comments below if there aren't any big edits I need to make before the six hours runs out. I realized I have mentioned my experience on here multiple times but never in such detail. Hope this is helpful to someone!
A. Street Ketamine (S, R types, respectively)
Street Ket and Ket in general fall into two different groups S and R - they are similar but different. Here's an article that gives the science etc behind that. There are a lot of dealers in a lot of areas who have no idea if they have S or R, usually the people higher up know this, or sometimes may not care. If you notice huge changes in how trippy (etc) a batch is vs another one, it may be due to this.

B. Medical Grade Ketamine
So, I have to at least begin this anecdotally bc I think it's important. I have been doing street Ket for over a decade before I finally got a good therapist who rec'd me to the IV (the IV part is important IMO) clinic and I told that man that he was legit the last white cis man I would ever trust with my body. I was right to do so. That shit takes you so fucking deep you come out nearly still in ego death, but beyond that, the intensity and purity of medical grade esp IV (Recreational users DO sometimes use needles with K but they are 99% of the time injecting it into the muscles, I imagine IV'ing street K would be bad news bears due to many impurities)
The impurities are essentially the reason for the difference not to mention how closely your experience is managed within the clinic as you are hooked up to many vitals etc, sometimes they will add in fent to smooth out things if someone is having a hard time falling into it. I never had that issue to the point they doubled my dose and session time from 1 to 2 hours. This also increased the price. I feel like I'd be in a different place MAYBE, if I could still afford to drop rent's worth every 4-8 weeks (this is maintenance, most IV clinics onboarding is 6 sessions in 2 weeks to get your brain to a place where the rewiring of trauma responses etc can take place with the future appointments)

I definitely experienced the rewiring I speak of. It is something that is NOT present in street K and never has been. Street K can absolutely help you manage depression IMO (this is case to case, person to person, we are all different) but the medical K took away one thing I really struggled with which was Vicarious Trauma Response, info on that below

I had this. BAD. It was due to someone close to me going into hardcore crisis around me. Eventually I was crawling around on my hands and knees in the dark of my own apartment to pretend like I was not home, I was terrified of my cell phone. My brain has wholly changed to the point I can now offer companionship in situations I never thought possible.
Obviously my mental health is still fucking clown shoes because here I am but that part at least changed. It makes me think other things can change for people too.
