So this packing up my shit stuff is taking an age. The only thing I'm keeping in the house will be things I know my family will want.
But yesterday when I started donating much of the brand new clothing I'd bought and never worn plus many of my books (which for me are like gold dust), and things not listed that I felt a deep connection to, it dawned on me that I no longer felt vested in, nor a connection to any of my stuff. It was just dead weight.
Ideally I'd like to go to the nearest council skip and throw everything in it, but I would feel guilty about not donating the good stuff to charity.
It's like I'm saying they'll be no going back because most of my possessions will be gone.

If it's what you want I hope you can do it. Getting rid of shit is intense. It's good you are dealing with it. I wish I could. Most of my shit is 2800 miles away at one of my parents. Them throwing away my shit is uber depressing to think about.

I plan to exit before September.

That's gotta be so hard, I never thought about this to be honest. Planning to ctb quite soon. Something to think about for me I guess.

Yeah I am an order freak. I literally plan everything that is possible to plan - my sister used to say I had OCD, but nah.. I just like things fully resolved so no one else has to deal with it. I even bought a funeral plan like four years ago :pfff:

I had exactly the same experience - I hoarded books for years and was super proud of my little library collection. I stuffed them into a couple of plastic sacks without a second thought along with a couple of French Connection shirts/jackets that I'd never worn, plus a bunch of other decent clothes. And an Xbox360 + about 20 games.

Didn't feel a thing when I handed it all off to a charity shop.

This is what I'm doing...tidying up before I CTB. It's arduous as I have so much stuff.

I had a failed attempt early this year. I also gave away all my things. Wasn't a problem expect for my books. I've always lived minimalistic but I had a couple of hundreds books. I was proud of my library and it's been rly hard to give all these storys, all this knowledge, all this nice time away.

I feel disconnected to most of the things that I own, I just keep things for the sake of keeping stuff. I hope to get rid of my stuff before ctb. I understand how it makes it seem more real, getting rid of things. I wish you well.
