Anyone know anything specifically about how fast death would be if someone did jump off high up bridge into a river?

From high enough you gain more speed and the water becomes very hard. So I'd say from the right height you could die on impact but people usually get knocked out/injured from the fall and then drown as a result, or because of current or exhaustion and drowning isn't a really pleasant way to die if you're conscious. Hypothermia is also common cause of death in this scenario I'm pretty sure

So depends on the height, how you fall, etc

250+ feet should be like hitting concrete, if you land on your head, your neck will break instantly

It's a popular method in my area. In some cases the bodies are never found. I've heard about survivals when witnesses alerted lifeguards immediately, but those are rare. I'm considering this method lately but I'm afraid of the pain/cold/drowning... For some reason there's not a lot of discussion about it here, or maybe I just haven't found it.

It is very difficult for people to overcome SI in order to jump. Also many people do not have access to structures that are high enough to guarantee death. So this method is not discussed very often.

Yeah I understand that. I think the cause of death in these cases (river) is mostly drowning. Which can be seconds due to cold shock but maybe much longer and possibly painful as well.

I could never jump. Heights on TV make my palms sweaty. There's just no way.

You see it's funny how humans are so different. The thought of jumping doesn't scare me at all; like one bit lol. The thought of somehow surviving (any attempt) truly does scare me more than anything on this earth. And I am a REAL weenie bitch. But if I knew I would be successful, I literally can't comprehend what there would be to fear. It would be done.
But becoming a vegetable.. no, no. The extra years I've spent on this earth to perfect my method and the agony that the extra time has caused is 100000x less than the thought of that type of a failure. Existence really do be suffering

Jumping from a bridge is probably my most likely method when I do go through with it, though ideally I'd get SN and use that instead.
