Is partial hanging mostly successful?

using a tie anchored to a bar in my closet i've tested it multiple times even shaking it rapidly to make sure if i start convulsing it should stay put. Would a full hanging be better? I'm choosing partial just because it seems more convienent.

Partial hanging is really hard to implement. A full hanging is without a doubt a better choice regarding to lethality, if you have the knowledge how to secure the knot and the noose. But the SI is really really hard going full hanging.

You chose a method for convenience, not quality. Partial is not easy to complete.

The risk with partial is while you're unconscious your body will fight as hard as it can to live, that includes tugging at the ligature to loosen it (useless) and standing up to reduce the pressure on your neck (this is the real risk).
Full suspension totally skips that last one and unless you have chosen a bad combination of ligature/knot/anchor, you're going to die and there's nothing you can do to stop it.

as someone who has attempted partial about 4x, its quite difficult to do. first time i hurt myself to the point of finding it difficult to breathe for days, all the other times i failed to go unconscious even if i felt i was falling. as worndown said, its very convenient but in the end very difficult to actually ctb with.

I know how to do it i just cannot for the life of me figure out a good anchor point and in the past have just either been to close to the ground or ripped out drywall or other things

I checked a lot of doorframes and put a hammer through the drywall on top of the one that worked. It is still pretty close to the ground. It is difficult to work if you are much taller that 5 feet.

One hammer knock is discreet and easily fixable.

What do you mean by that? Also I am 5'4 maximum 140 lbs

Can't you have pullup bar installed in your room ? Most hold upto 80+ kg

I have a doorframe one but i don't really have any studs i can think of

I made slipknot nooses that I tie on beforehand. They take up 1.5 feet of vertical space. Other people have other techniques that take less vertical space, but I haven't had the time to learn them.
