Jumping from a building feels too scary, and there are security guards; I feel so hopeless.

I don't think I could. I wouldn't know where to start. Do you tie a weight to your legs and jump in or just go under far enough under that it would be hard to swim up and breath? Yikes, scary.

i doubt most people would really consider it

from what i have seen it would be one of the most peaceful methods to leave this planet

but, and it is a big but, i seriously doubt the average person could do it without panicking. i would think you would need to take one massive breath in, which would be close to impossible if you hadn't already held your breath for a very long time which then allows for too much time to panic, particularly if you are not just laying in water, but out in the beach/sea where you cannot touch the ground. if you only took a small breath, then you would still be awake, but with a lot of fluid where it shouldn't be.

in theory, it is probably a good way - but in practice it probably should not be tried

Drowning is the way I personally want to go. Most folk don't recommend it, and I would probably agree with them. I've heard people who have experienced drowning and lived, call it extremely painful, though a few people will say otherwise. If I had access to a gun (which I never will) then that would be how I would do it.

I live on the coast, so I feel a lot of affection for the water. A big reason for wanting to drown, is that I hope to go missing and no one finds me, saves funeral costs and I personally really want to feed the ecosystem in my death. I also feel it suits me, and the life I've led. Though it's definitely not an easy method to carry out and the fight for survival would be extremely intense, I feel the only way I'd actually die with this method is if I made it impossible for me to fight back, taking a ton of sedatives, and tying weights to me. I am accepting that drowning would be a very difficult and most likely painful and slow.

There are other easier methods to carry out and it's likely on impulse I'd choose a different method. Though I feel most happy with the thought of successfully drowning myself.

I've contemplated it. It's just a matter of finding the right spot. I've scouted for areas with high surfs and steep coastline to prevent any 'saves'.
Also I'd probably have to be heavily intoxicated so the body is too impaired to fight.

I think, drowning should be rather easy in case if you remove a lot of oxygen from your bloodstream via gas asphyxiation beforehand (which can be done by inhaling some oxygen-free gas from an air duster or a balloon)

When you're submerged, you can't restore the normal blood oxygen saturation by inhaling air, so waking up would be unlikely.

I thought about taking some sleeping pills and alcohol and taking a bath to drown like Whitney Houston. I'd fall asleep in the bath and not be conscious while I'm drowning. Otherwise not really because drowning is extremely painful.

considering this too. although i'm worried about blacking out and saving myself/lifting my head out of the water. i'd tie my arms and legs though.

Sleeping pills and alcohol are depressants and therefore cause sedation and loss of motor function there's a good chance if you blackout you would lose the ability to save yourself. At that point you could only be saved if someone finds you.

Will I wake up in the middle of it? Or will the reduced mobility keep me from waking?

You most likely won't wake up because you technically would blackout instead of actually falling asleep.

I have trazadone and hydroxyzine too, they're both considered sedatives so I think they should work.

Sleeping pills and alcohol make you fall asleep, but they don't make you lose consciousness, right? If you go in while you're asleep, wouldn't you wake up?

I appreciate your suggestion, I have wondered about ways I could make it easier to pull off. That seems like a good way to go about it. Thank you.

When combined they make you BLACKOUT/PASS OUT but also fall asleep, two very different things. So waking up would be much harder. Your motor skills would also be depleted due to the sedative effects. Meaning the instinct to keep your chin above water disappears.

Was death desirable or undesirable potential result of drowning for you back then? If it was undesirable, then experiencing some panic due to apparent threat of death seems quite logical.
