I find that This type of discussion is helpful for my understanding of my existence in life. It's comforting to someone like me, who doesn't see life to have the same intrinsic value that our culture begs as true. Give it a read and discuss it safely here, if interested

P.S.
Thank you to this forum's administration for keeping a safe place for discussion; and way from the meddling hands of Mandatory Reporters.

The opening premise is really interesting. It makes the point so well. It turns the tables on the reader.

I'd like to think this site is pro-choice.

Maybe the article's author, D. Benatar, PhD, would be willing to assist some of us, strictly on the QT.

This is interesting! I think that there is a lot of moral and philosophical conversations that can be had about how meaningful life is and who has a right to life or death and by what means. Thank you for sharing!

There are few things I 100% agree with because I'm a pain in the ass, but yeah, I have no notes at all. Well thought out and well argued. Thanks for sharing.

See, that's what I like—well reasoned and presented. In there are the usual, expected, points—determining competence, and allowing for physicians the right to refuse to assist, based on moral grounds. That means mental health reasons will still require convincing folks that the situation is beyond help…
