Implementing the night night method

Could someone help me in this? @Kooz Do I have the wrong hatchet? I am attaching the things I am using.
My ratchet has two things. One with the steel part with a hook on the other side. The other part also has a hook on one side and just free end. I don't get how you could use this to make just one loop around your neck and tighten to make pressure on your neck. I had bought two rachets and both are identical and have two parts. I made a mess in one rachet and unable to use that now. I am planning to use this tonight. I feel so idiotic in not being able to work with this.

What is your plan to use this exactly? Maybe I can help you. Firstly, are you sure you want to do this?

I am trying to ctb. I am very sure. I have the bags on my neck and am using the rachet and it has been 10 mins and nothing is happening so far.

Firstly, you might want to post this in the mega thread. I know there's not much activity on the thread at the moment, but I'm watching as it's also one of my preferred methods.

Regarding the ratchet, you sort of have the right type as per Kooz's initial post, but I had the same concerns as you regarding the hooks and making a single loop. I personally would recommend an endless ratchet strap:

Apparently so, but I know many people have struggled with it so maybe not the easiest to do. It is currently my preferred method but I'm still waiting for the bags to arrive so haven't been able to test it yet. The strap arrived a few hours ago
