I agree, the SI can make suicide very difficult. I think that if there was no SI the less than ideal methods would be easier. Of course it's hard to die as even know we want to leave we are programmed to survive. The human body is designed to torture us and I think that for me escaping from it is the best thing possible.
There will be no life then. Because there is suffering in the world and no sentient being can escape from that but is suffering bad? How much suffering is the problem? How much suffering makes people want to ctb? Is there anyone who wants to die while feeling pain after stepping on a lego?
