Venting I wish I lived in Nazi Germany

Not that I like them. In fact I pretty much despise them the most of everything and my political beliefs are basically the exact opposite of Nazism (internationalist anarcho-communist pacifism).

But under Nazi Germany I would probably be given euthanasia. I fit many criteria: I am what they would call "work-shy" (I can barely concentrate on work tasks and get fired very quickly after getting hired, if I get hired at all). I have a physical deformity that is probably genetic, at least the Nazis thought so. I am an alcoholic (although recovering) and the Nazis said alcoholism was a genetic disease. I have committed "racial disgrace" by being with people of other races. And I'm mentally ill. I could probably hype up my mental illness to be a clearer target for euthanasia.

Bottled pure carbon monoxide gas was used. Often they would make fake death certificates stating a plausible cause of natural death sent to the families. So my family wouldn't even have to grieve for me being killed due to these liars.

ngl this is a really messed up thing to say and fantasize about. like i get that you're suffering and all, im sorry for what you're going through, but this is like if i went "ugh i wish i was one of those civilians that got bombed during hiroshima and nagasaki... i'd die so quickly, barely having a second to conceive of what was happening to me". like? these were real people who didn't want to die, persecuted and cornered over things they had no control over. you shouldn't say stuff like this
- not to mention it's not that accurate either, in your example. the nazis would've starved and tortured you for a long time before they gave you euthanasia. it wouldn't be painless or easy at all

I don't really mean their extermination camps (which included forced labor before gassing). I mean their euthanasia programs for the mentally ill. Then I could get free euthanasia and the state even happy to give it, lol.

Yeah, I agree with that in general. Why fantasize about what didn't happen or could have happened. It was just a quick thought.

Yup! It doesn't get any lower than that . They would see me as "life unworthy of life" as they called it, and all I would have said is "yup what that nazi said."

I get that. All I'm saying is that I wish I was one of them instead of those who didn't want euthanasia (or Hiroshima blasts). My wish would align with the state. But I'm against all force, for sure.

I'm not talking about the concentration camps. I'm talking about their Aktion T4 program. They took mental patients from asylums, transported them to another place and euthanised them within 24 hours. There was no period of forced labor or starvation, unless you wanna talk about how poorly run asylums were back then in general, which I'm sure they were.

Lowkey I get what you mean. I wish I could take the place of someone who was actually there. It's fucked up that people who want to live and actually have hope for the future are murdered or die so young, while we're stuck living. I truly wish I could trade with someone dying of a terminal illness or someone stuck in a war torn country. I know they could use my life for much more than I ever could

While I sympathize with the sentiment and agree that voluntary euthanasia should be a right, this is a really fraught line of thought to go down. The vast majority of people killed during the Third Reich was in the camps, either being experimented on or literally worked to death. I don't know how bad your "deformity" is or what kind of mental illness(es) you have, but unless you had something that physically prevented you from working, most likely you'd be sent to a labor camp to work and tortured there if you didn't comply.

The thing about genocides in history is that straight up mass executions is hardly done outside of specific ideological reasons. Even Aktion T4 only had around 300,000 deaths compared to the millions that died in camps like Auschwitz, many of whom likely had similar issues to you. It's actually much more profitable and efficient to keep people enslaved and (barely) alive than it is to just kill them. And for as much as we'd like to think we would resist being forced to work, eventually there'll be some kind of torture severe enough that you'll readily take working over having to go through that again. That isn't a character judgment, it's a biological fact. We wouldn't have so many threads on this site about SI if pain was so easily overcome, and you couldn't coerce people through torture if you could. Eventually, you will break and you will work.

I'm not about to say you're wrong for feeling the way you do, and it really says something about the world we live in that so many people have similar fantasies. But I'd like to ask you to at least reconsider the context of it.
