Lol, I am a gay male. Words cannot express how much I crave a boyfriend so I can have emotional and sexual intimacy with a boy. Platonic male or female friends don't provide me with the relief I want.

Honestly, I would rather have the friends. In theory, I'd have a small chance at keeping them around. Fat chance with a love interest. The best I can do is pining and stalking. Haven't tried the latter yet though.

In my opinion/experience, just having a love interest at the cost of not having any other friends or acquaintances will not only not be as fulfilling as you think it would be, but also would actively damage your relationship due to overreliance.
