I attempted partial hanging(kneeling) and almost suceeded just now. My Si kicked in at the last moment.

As I could feel my carotid arteries being compressed, it was so so painless. Not even fleeting pain. I was just moments away from succeeding.

If only I wasn't such a coward...Here is what I did to make it painless-

1) I used a slip knot that tightened as I knelt. As I was falling unconscious it tightened perfectly.
2) I took a good amount of time properly locating my carotid arteries.
3) I placee the knot just below my left ear.

Here's hoping I succeed next time.

I was wondering: what anchor point did you rely on? I've seen many people discourage using doorknobs for some reason but no one explained why.

I used a doorknob myself. I feel it did a good job as an anchor point, it supported my weight and didnt give way or anything.

It's such a short space to rely on the tension of the rope, what if you start convulsing after you pass out and it loosens the knot? That's what I worry about with partial hanging

So the placement of the knot allows for the rope not to put too much pressure on your windpipe well also blocking carotid?

Yes, exactly. I'm not sure if it's the ideal placement, but it worked for me. There was no pressure on my windpipe at all, only the arteries being blocked.

Yes, even I'm not sure what would happen in that scenario. I decided to just take the risk. There are perhaps other safer ways, but partial is the only accessible option for me right now.
Do you have pictures
I do not, unfortunately. If I get the courage to attempt again hopefully, I will send a picture of my set up.

I have a question. In every topic about partial are people saying to first find arteries. In my case that isnt the problem. Im relatively skiny and can easily find a pulse. But then what? If I pressure to the point where any effect takes place all it does it starts to increase pressure in my head. I cant get to vision fading. Lets say Im able to do it with my fingers. How does that help me? If I put rope around my neck.

This is random, but is your pfp of a character from Alter Ego? It brings up memories of when I played it a few years back

I have questions, @Franken_1517

What do you mean by knot? (I'm Brazilian, so I don't recognize this expression) How to position and how to make the rope not to tighten the throat? And what kind of rope did you use? Ah, one more thing. What exactly did you feel that made you give up?

Thanks

Can you describe or share a photo of how to position yourself for a successful partial hanging? Partial hanging has always been so confusing to me and I don't understand how it works

The difference is between 'carotid' and 'jugular' arteries (veins). Jugular will give you the pressure feeling, because the blood can't 'flow OUT', therefore making 'pressure' in your brain/face. whereas 'carotid' brings the blood 'flow IN'. Carotid is much harder to find and varies person to person but that is what makes you pass out (vision fading) before you stop breathing in the case of partial
