Venting I don't understand why marks matter more than my life

So I'm currently in uni and I've been so depressed over the past year I've gone from being a good student who gets good Marks to someone who's failed almost of the 6 subjects The thing is I'm barely surviving I dont understand a thing they teach I'm always tired I feel so suffocated and suicidal I just wanna fucking die I dont care about these marks but my parents do theyll probably make me drop out of clg if they found out I flunked every subject hopefully I can CTB before all this after all my life is meaningless and only those damn numbers matter to them

Your marks dont matter more than your life. A lot of people are delusional about the importance of grades and i suppose you should try to resist their opinions

Do your parents realise just how unhappy you are? Maybe if they realised you were so unhappy you were considering ending it, they might adjust their thinking. Not saying you should tell them. Only you can assess whether that might help but I think sometimes they just think we're struggling- but then- everyone struggles- it's all part of life- they struggled etc. etc. Without considering that they could actually be at risk of losing you all together.

Have you ever come across this kind of prank letter to put things in perspective? Not to say you should send it of course but, I used to find it amusing: (If you're in the right mood.)

Yeah they do realise but again they just dont care instead my phones been confesticated for a month and I've been staring at the walls they just dont care

Hey buddy! Marks do not matter. At least not more than you. I was in the same page. I was scared to dropout of my degree because of peoples judgement. It eventually pushed me to the edge. I am now a drop out. But living a better life, not caring about what people thinks.
