I'm posting a question for a friend. Legitimately. I mean, the friend is a legitimate friend who's in trouble now due to a certain user (not a mod), and the question is also legitimate because it got me thinking too.

Let's say, for whatever reason, I don't want my name associated with this site. Considering I'm using this particular name everywhere, this would indeed be bad. I didn't think the registration through. I want to change my name here. Hypothetically, for now, but still...
Alts, however, are very frowned upon.
How would I go with changing my name without selfbanning, which means I will lose the one shot of getting unbanned should I ever piss off some mod enough to fully ban me?

You can change your name by going into your account and then account details. I think you can only change your name once every few months. Quite a few people have changed their name recently.

This changes your username. I thought you were originally referring to your username.

I'm not sure what other name could be associated with this site?
