I live in a small town in Canada. I have applied basically everywhere in my town, several times. I have tried learning new skills and getting remote work at call centers and selling various products, no luck. I have a great resume and did well in highschool, I am literally applying everywhere for anything and I just cant get employment. It's so goddamn frustrating, I'm going on 19 and all my family can seem to talk about is how I am not working and how this gap year has been for nothing and I am useless and pathetic. I feel like I am slipping back into being suicidal again, and I honestly know if I do I wont survive this time. Thanks for reading.

God I feel that. I lived in a small Canadian town for a while too before moving down south near Toronto (again). Me being disabled feels like the cherry on top of it all.

Bro I still am looking and I still have found nothing it's crazy, like cant even really further my life if I cant get employment. Thanks for sympathizing I appreciate it. I used to live in oshawa before I had to move, and honestly I could not imagine how hard it would be to live in cities like that while disabled. I wish you all the luck, much love.

Finding Jobs is hard. Remember that the job also has to find you. I know that same frustation deeply. Its not your fault.

Hope things get better

I'm a NEET not trying to get a job, I have autism though. I'm on welfare fortunately. I have no good qualifications or drive to get a job. Is welfare a possibility where you are? It may help until you get on your feet.

Welfare is not possible where I am unfortunately :( . I have even ramped up the job search this last month to AT LEAST 4 or 5 resumes put out a day and still nothing. Like I am applying for minimum wage and nothing more, I can feel my mental slipping again.

thank you so much for the kind words. Still no job despite my efforts thus far, but this really helped. My family sees me as a useless pathetic nobody, so words like this really hit home for me <3

Try to learn coding bro, seriously. You can get jobs that pay decently after a few months if you put the work in.
And you can still apply for other jobs and even work while you study, but that's what I'd advise.
It ain't easy but at least it depends on you and not some stupid and expensive institution that may or may not give you a degree

funny you should say this because I actually am learning to code, but with the advent of AI I dont really know if it's a good return on investment anymore, but I think it's a good skill anyway. I would say I spend a few hours a day learning to code!

I feel sorry about your family talking shit about you since you're trying so hard. Maybe consider university or a professional degree if your search won't bring you far, but you'll probably find something before thinking about this. Good luck my friend
