Why would you take any out until you're ready to use it? It isn't about proportions between the SN and the water. The SN is measured in grams, while the water is in ml. Standard protocol is 25g of the SN mixed in 50ml of water.

This kind of sounds like you may have purchased >95% SN somewhere.. I'm surprised you can buy 500g of 95%+ purity SN easily. Perhaps you may be referring to curing salts bought on Amazon

As long as it's purity is >95% it doesn't matter if you have 1kg or 500gm or 100gm. All you need is 25gm measured out using a scale to be mixed with 50ml.

Two hours is probably more than enough. Remember, you're depriving your brain of oxygen. It takes longer than strangulation or asphyxiation would, but it seems to take about 30-40 minutes for people to stop breathing, which in this case is a sign of death rather than a cause of it.
