Story Husband learned about sanctioned suicide and laughed.

While my husband was gaming the other night I was watching random YouTube videos and one talked about Sanctioned Suicide on Reddit and it basically explained what this place is.

My husband was listening as he was playing he laughed and called them idiots and "how stupid can people be" and just kept degrading everyone mentioned ect. And I was shocked, he knows I deal with suicidal issues and had attempts in my life and in the shock I also almost laughed cause like... well I'm here and I guess I'm one of those "fucking morons" and in my mind he was laughing at me.
I'm aware this is likely not the case because he doesn't know I'm apart of this part of the internet, but knowing my issues I was just kinda shocked.

And funnily enough the failure of our marriage due to him not wanting anything to do with me (I'm aware it's my fault by staying) has been totally dragging me down wanting to ctb more as of late.

Idk I guess it's just kinda funny cause its ironic and he doesn't even know it and it makes me wonder if I ever am successful at catching the bus how he'd react if he ever found out I was here. Is that horrible to think? Likely, I'm sorry. Anyway thanks for reading if ya made it this far

People laugh at us all the time, even medical professionals! The only people I've never heard or seen laughing at us is the doctors! Everyone under them is disgraceful! They simply don't understand us. They are so naive to think everyone loves life and wants to die at age 110.

People alway say, there were no signs and he would be one of them. Your husband probably think your SI was a time only and you've gotten over it. The way he talks down on us, no wonder you don't open up to him about how you really feel.

Maybe when he's open to a conversation, try to help him understand what life is like living with SI. I'm never ashamed of this site and you shouldn't either. Truth is, you're probably still alive because of this site like many.

I try not to be ashamed of this site, because to be honest you're 100% right. My eyes opened so much more when I came across this site and it became a huge comfort to know that other people understand this way of thinking and aren't cruel about it.

If he is ever open to listening I'll definitely jump on it and try to explain, I just figured he already did due to the fact he had a time in his life he wanted to ctb. But as you say, can't convince people and I will let him stay in his bubble.

It takes o much energy for us to wake up and continue to live a lie and carry all our pain silently and all alone. We stay longer for various reasons, our family, friend, kids etc, just so they can have access to us. Ironically, those same people will notice us rotting away and do absolutely nothing for us. But we selfishly stay for them.

I've never seen suicide as selfish and always get into an irrational rage when it's said to be. It's selfish of them to keep us around, ignore we are hurting, ignore the signs and blatan our cry for help. Just... fuck em and fuck all that.

Well, if you're suffering greatly and nobody will help and only mock and force their views on you, then it's perfectly OK to be selfish. After all, people always tell others to help themselves, well, we are. Just not in a way they approve of. Fuck them. My friends got together behind my back and got me a 5150. (I wasn't even active that day) When I was released, I released them! I never looked back and completely moved on. I would think they would rather see me go then continue to suffer. I'll never understand it.

You can tell people all your problems and they will listen and even cry with you. The moment you mention suicide, you have crossed the line beyond their comprehension! Hopefully, it will be over soon for the both of us and we can be at peace finally

Not sure the doctors are much better but they usually don´t laugh in your face or within earshot.

If you're health, good in spirit, good job, friends, , home, family, parents, things are going fine, suicide seens a joke for "weak" people that cant stand life.

If you're unluck, understand what depression is, try to look for help, understand the term "rock bottom", suicide is a relief.

I think before commit suicide, at least try, really try, I "could" keep trying some doctors and a bunch of other drugs but 5 years is enough for me, I'm destroyed inside/outside and willl not take my parent/mother down (financial) because it's her life saving even been widow living with my sister, she loves and enjoy life so much, I wish I was like her.

In my case, before this i had extreme sympathy for ppl who ctbed but i didnt understand why they did it. But after spending time here and dwelling on my own suicidal thoughts, I've come to conclude that anyone no matter how strong they seem can become suicidal. The death of a loved one, health issues, chronic pain, financial ruin etc so many reasons that can lead a person to wanna take their life. I wish there was more kindness and empathy in this world.

So true how can people claim to love us but watch us rot away?
