• Hey Guest,

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

The search function was surprisingly unhelpful, unless I'm missing something.

I'm looking for advice on practical things I can do to make it easier for those who will be stuck dealing with my estate after I die. I've heard nightmare scenarios where it's difficult for the estate to cancel subscriptions of the deceased because the company "need to speak to the owner of the subscription" even though the person is dead, so I want to at least avoid situations like that.

My current list includes things like cancelling my phone plan and gym membership, as well as making sure all my revolving credit is paid off. I might even provide some of my account login information for certain things to make access to my stuff easier (NOT my sasu account or social media, and not banks either since that is usually processed through official channels / probate. I mean things like my regular email account, just to make it easier for the estate).

Related question, would it be worth it to see a lawyer and get a will written? I'm "young" by most people's standards (late 20s), so I'm not sure if its worth raising suspicion over. I'm also not sure if it's worth my currently very low mental energy, since it seems complicated to set up through the proper channels.

I have an idea of things I'm going to do. 1) Cancel subscriptions/Delete Social Media Accounts 2) Get a will written up. I'm also young but I think it's worth doing if you can. 3) Sell as many of my belongings that I can so there's less stuff for my family to deal with 4) Make a list of bank accounts I have and logins 5) Writing notes for immediate family and close friends.

This post although it has a different final goal, contains useful info on how to keep track and deal with your personal stuff.

About the will it is mostly ok and actually a good idea regardless of your personal situation to have it done when you start to have your own heritage.
