I've been locked up in a psych ward for 11 days now.

I can't sleep cause I'm in a room with some old fuck that sleeps all day, and then opens and closes the fucking window the entire night. He also pissed in the bottle twice and when the nurses took his piss bottle, he tried pissing in the trash can.
The second roommate might be a pedo and the third is some guy with delusions and anger managment issues

Because I've been locked up for the holidays, I got to talk with a psychologist once during my entire stay here.

I've been told multiple times that they will let me out on monday, but that was a lie to convince me to consent to stay here willingly. Because I'm here "Willingly" I'm supposed to be able to leave any time, but every time I tried asking to leave they just told me to fuck off

I didn't even try anything. I just told my psychologist that I've been having suicidal thoughts and they sent me here.

I have no fucking clue how this place is supposed to help people. Every single person I spoke to wants to get out of here as soon as possible.

I found like two people that aren't completely disabled or druged to the point of not being able to do shit. Had a silly idea of running a Vampire: the masquerade chronicle in here. Well, tough shit. One of the guys is now on some meds and is either sleeping all day or saying he's too tired for anything, which is fair. At least I have like one dude I can talk to.

This is probably just incoherent rambling.

I just want to be out of here as soon as possible. What do I do? How do I use my time here? How can I get out of here sooner. I genuinly have no idea what my rights are in here.

Also have a shitty childish drawing I made when I managed to find a clean piece of paper.

That's a very good drawing. I like how the line work denotes texture on the bunny.

It's been years since I've been in the nut hut. I remember asking to go home ASAP but they weren't keen on that. I do remember after I came up with a safety plan with the therapist on duty, they let me go home.
I'm not sure if you're American. If not the advice may not be the same, but that's my experience with the ward.

Sorry you're dealing with this, psych hospitals tend to provide very little/no help or ways to fill your time. Not all, but most of them........

From past experience, the best ways to pass the time are playing games with other patients, or occupying yourself with books, crosswords, journaling..... things like that. Since the other patients are too drugged/out of it, the latter might be better. Do you have any paper and writing utensils? Is there anyone who could bring you some if not? You could ask the nurses to maybe print you some sudoku or crosswords if you're desperate, I had to do that once.

It's awful that you are currently going through this...
I would say that it will depend on which country you are from but if you "willingly" consented to being commited to a psych ward then you should be able to get out of it as well. If possible then I would try to get in contact with a higher up since {depending on your country} it may not be legal for them to hold you there against your will.

If the above fails I usually try to occupy myself by either drawing, writing or listening to music if you still have free access to your phone. Try to see if the psych ward plans some daily activities as well, they're usually not super fun but that kills a bit of time at least

Good luck on your stay there and I hope you get to go out asap!

Depending on where you are, if you sign a form, they will be legally required to release you within an x amount of days. More than that, they have to fulfill a court trial which doctors are too lazy to do. Can you look up if it's in your location?

Might be weird, but I survived by pretending to roleplay my imagined image of a normal person. Because if they can't record something wrong with you, they would have no leverage in forcing you to stay, I asked the nurse, she told me that they like it when you participate in group therapy, leave your room and don't sleep all day, talk 'openly' to them. I passed the time by reading.

I do fortunately have some paper and writing utensils. It's not much but it will have to do. And thank you for the advice <3

Thanks for advice. I'm in Poland and I've been told that they will let me go after they finish doing a psychological assesment first. I will probably be stuck here for like 2 more weeks.

Also I'm glad you like my drawing <3

I'm in Poland and I'm getting a lot of conflicting information about how the law works here...
I do have access to my phone. They forgot to charge it today tho, so I'll have to use it sparingly...

I do try my best to pretend to be normal. I did have like one day I spent in bed all day... but other than that I try to talk with people and do stuff. One of the nurses asked me about their documantation saying that I've been isolating myself and said that I seem really social and she can't imagine that being the case. I guess I'm doing an okay job
