  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

My skull is a cesspool of shit. Every thought gets free reign once it enters and consumes my whole existence. Usually these thoughts are of the existential kind, alot of the time suicidal. I've been trying to battle it for as long as I can remember but recently it's gotten worst because of how suicidal I've become. It hinders me from focusing on the tasks at hand and sends me down unproductive spirals. Does anyone know any resources to combat this? links to psychological studies are very welcomed (preferably the advice is based on studies than from personal experience, I'm very picky and arsey when it comes to anecdotal advice because i kinda think they're bullshit no offense)

Sorry for being so demanding. I don't even know if anyone's gonna read this thread let alone reply. If you do I will make sure to thank you profusely

Theres always the option of getting professional help. Of course, the process of getting help is long and takes a lot of energy, but this is probably the healthiest and easiest way to combat this.
My therapist recommended journaling, and otherwise distraction for thoughts like this. Maybe try to find new hobbies, the best option for this is something that needs concentration, so your brain cant focus on these negative thoughts.

Also if you find a therapist, talk to them about medication that could possibly help with that, and in the long run it should work out for you
(I dont really know if this helps, I'm going off of what my therapist told me, since I have a similar problem to yours)

I'm sorry you're going through this, rumination is horrible, I can relate to what you're saying.

so I'm really bad at remembering to do this and there is prolly a better explanation but from your bodies point of view, you wanna get out of fight or flight mode and back into parasympathetic mode where you are more relaxed and you can do this by doing things to stimulate the vagus nerve.

I have to find my notes but from memory some ways to do this could be:
Humming, singing or whistling, the vibrations proven to stimulate the vagus nerve
Cold water immersion
Exercise, you don't have to do anything fancy, run on the spot or do jumping jacks for a minute, or dance!

These things help to bring out of it and bring you back to the moment, so then that can help with then doing an enjoyable task or a distraction or mindfulness or meditation.

I hope you find something to work for you, it sure takes practice have patience with yourself, I know I struggle to though! and I hope you feel better 🙏

I found the book by Eckharte Tolle: 'The Power of Now' really useful- although, it was ages ago I read it. I'm not really in the 'self help' frame of mind at the moment to go back to it. I also like watching YouTube videos by Sadhguru. I just enjoy their perspectives on the modern mind and all this chatter we get distracted by.
