i have some blades, but they dull very quickly. they are razors. how can i keep them from doing this? i dont have access to my materials to ctb rn, so im just cutting to try and ease the pain until then. but its incredibly frustrating if i cant cut deep enough. should i be storing them a certain way or place as well? i dont know shit about taking care of a razor blade. i have been cutting since i was little, long before i had to shave, so i wasnt allowed razors and dont know any care tips (?). i am lucky i seem to be incapable of growing facial hair lol, that would be a problem.

im not gonna try and ctb with the blades, that would be stupid. but just something to do in the meantime, you know?

Blades may not be suitable. The vein on you wrist only works in the movies no in real life your blood would clot the bleeding. I have scar from cut but it's best not to even bother if the blades are dull or if you lack materials for cleaning the wound. If you don't know how to apply make up to cover scars is also an issue, you'll still to get odd looks I deal with it already . Maybe a taser can do you can shock but if the sensation of pain doesn't release endorphins for you and give you a sense of a still mind then it's best to leave it alone. You don't have have to proper equipment to do any of it. SH isn't worth it in the long run

i already have the scars and stuff. i have very visible keloid scars, it really sucks. but i just really like the feeling. and i have bandages and stuff to clean with. i have been cutting for about 10 years, so i just kind of dont see a problem with me doing it. i dont try and cut veins specifcally, just wherever there is room on my body, im not picky. thanks for caring tho i appreciate that

Are we talking the disposable, rectangular blades or a straight-razor?

Use a whetstone if using a straight razor or knife. Do some research into whetstones.

Additionally, use disposable blade if you don't want to deal with the hassle of sharpening blades.

i have very visible keloid scars
Keloids? Do you mean hypertrophic scars? Keloid scars and hypertrophic scars are different from one another. If the scar is just raised but the scar tissue doesn't extend beyond the site of injury then you have hypertrophic scarring.

this will sound weird given the forum where this convo is taking place but in terms of self-harm, its good practice to use a new blade each time. keeping them single use will mean they are sharp and theres less chance of infection. using the same blade risks serious infection, even from superficial injuries. whilst all of us clearly want out from life, i can imagine dying slowly through septic shock and losing all your limbs gradually before dying is probably not what you want. hope this helps and doesn't sound condescending xx

i have both. but yes i meant keloids. ive had doctors tell me they are keloids, and have been considering treatment for them. i also have hypertrophic scars, they suck too, but arent as visible or annoying.
