Discussion How much % of the population would be gone if N was widely accessible?

I think the most deaths would be in India, China, Russia, South America... basically anywhere where life is pretty rough and stressfull. So my guess would be that just india alone would Lose like 30% of its population.

In total population i think 50%. That may Sound extreme and maybe i think anyone would take N if they could because i myself am not in a good place, and project that onto others, but idk even if your not suicidal, what's so great about life that's better than eternal peacful sleep?

It just came to me that losing 50% of the population, would be kind of a miracle for the climate and stuff.

Personally I think the population of people that wouldn't be here would be every low since suicide would still be taboo and most people still want to live despite it all
It would certainly be much less than 10%, probably like 1-2% of the global population and the highest I can see is like 5%

Maybe 3%. I think that's closest to the 2.7% estimate globally of people who attempt. Presumably with N, they'd succeed.

I also don't think it would necessarily be third world countries with the highest rates. Compared to the global average attempts of 2.7%, England (UK) for instance has a 7.8% score.

Of course, knowing they would likely be successful, maybe more people would in fact attempt. There again- it would reduce the amount of suicidal gestures- although, I kind of hate that phrase. Maybe it is a thing though sometimes. People trying very unreliable methods knowing they will fail, as a means to get help.

I think it would be under 10%.

For some, just having that peace of mind is enough to sustain them until they are ready. I don't think the majority would rush into anything.

This is how it would work for me so I could be wrong as I can't speak for anyone else.

I'd be long gone from this dreadful, cruel and torturous existence I just always saw as a mistake, all I want is to peacefully cease existing, I just hope for the peace of non-existence where this existence I just always saw as the most terrible mistake is finally all gone and forgotten, I always suffer so much from how I cannot just have Nembutal to finally escape from the abomination of existence that just causes harm and suffering with no limit as to how much one can be tortured, all I want is some peace.
