This is a great list!

I didn't know about the Infinity Burial Suit. I guess it's somewhat affordable at $1500 but I think it's more about buying the idea since fungus and spores are everywhere. Same with the Loop Living Cocoon but holy crap that thing's expensive at $4,500 for a box made of mushrooms. These methods are more about posturing one's environmental values imo. Being buried in a pine box or just in the dirt is virtually free. I like tree burial or exposure.

A coupe other methods along the lines of exposure are

Tibetan Sky Burial: Remains are aid out in the open at high elevation for vultures to dine on.
Viking Funeral: Body is laid to rest on an combustible raft which is set adrift in a body of water. A flaming arrow is shot at the raft to set it ablaze to partially cremate the body and the rest goes into the water as the raft is consumed.
Volcano: Jump into volcano and become one with the gods.
Hot Spring: If the spring is hot enough, the body is not recoverable.
Cave Burial: Going so deep into a cave so that the body is virtually irretrievable.

Some of the nature-based ones are both the method of death and burial. They're briefly more violent but often certain. Good for those that don't want a funeral.

Edit - Added additional nature methods.

I would prefer to donate my body to science
but that is very expensive
and it is tied to many conditions

My wish is for my ashes to be scattered at Mont Saint-Michel, the place I felt the closest to some higher power. idk if it's legal or not, do it in secret maybe, but I don't want anyone hanging onto me or making anything out of me, lol. I was used enough in life!

cremated and scattered

but it would be cool to be used for a tree or a nutrient rich seed and nut block for wildlife or to have one of those sky burials

I just looked up that organization that's supposed to turn your ashes into food for wildlife and unfortunately they allegedly gave people (families and loved ones of the deceased) back fake ashes (of what was supposed to be left over after the process) ?

Sky burial, I wish to return at least a little of what I took from nature. And having my remains become a part of a vulture or maybe wolf is nice. I respect both animals.

The ink tattoo one also sounds cool, but I don't have anyone who'd agree to this.

Maybe it'd be nice to have some of my ashes mixed with a USB containing my life's work. The outer coating on USBs are plastic, it should be possible.

The artwork one sounds cool though. I actually know someone who can paint. most of the misc category, I've never heard of those and they're all very cool.

Definitely cremation and scatter ashes. I don't exactly want my body to be a decaying corpse that gets eaten by insects by traditional burial. Also, my relatives died by scatter ashes and cremation and I do want to just be with them in a sense of having my ashes scattered with them under a tree.

I want cremation since I like the purity of fire. Fire literally turns us to ashes. And you know what they say? Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

I don't really want my body to decompose somewhere. I know it doesn't really matter, but, yeah.

Those categories are crazy. I was thinking about sending my ashes into space, but I don't want to add to the ridiculous amount of space pollution that already exists😅

I think most likely I would choose to cremate myself to ash 1st and then since you said logistics isn't a problem,I'll choose some other method but not sure what.

The other category is so very odd Imagine being turned into a frisbee, who would want to be thrown around like that? I feel like a grieving family might prefer a boomerang, you know so the deceased comes back to them?? But then again, maybe they wouldn't want that if they're opting for a frisbee…

Ok this kind of depressed me. As usual since I don't have much of an interest in anything or any goals I feel like most of this doesn't apply to me. It's not the first time I've realized this though. I definitely wanna be cremated. But after? I used to think I just wanted them thrown in the ocean because I didn't care but now I realize if I'm really being picky, I don't even want them outside because I hate the outdoors!

If something were to happen at this moment, of course my parents would take them in an urn . That sounds OK to me sitting inside as usual lol. But it gets tricky after they pass and who takes care of everything and where do the ashes end up?

You're not going to believe,I exactly considered a boomerang as well. I was watching a lot of boomerang videos Few weeks ago on YouTube. They would use these special ones on large open fields that would just go massive distances and then come back. It was pretty cool.

I watched frisbee ones as well but they always had dogs bring them back😂

Not sure I would want to be stuck in a dog's mouth in the afterlife.🧐

it is so expensive because the remains have to be disposed of
so you have to pay for the funeral
the cheapest funeral in Germany is an anonymous burial
that costs 2000 euros
it is really a dilemma

I'd really like to become a tree, both because I'd be able to provide so much while taking so little, and because I like the subtle Dante's Inferno symbolism.

Unfortunately my research tells me it's expensive and difficult, and I'd rather make things as easy as possible on those dealing with my corpse. So cremation it is, with an instruction to throw my ashes away ASAP.

I have everything set up for cremation, and for nobody to have to deal with the ashes other than the funeral home. If I had my way theyd just be scattered and forgotten or disposed of, no place to visit, but an urn in a random spot in a cemetery was the best I could do. no fuss, I dont want anyone having any control over that shit but me y'know?

Yeah I already have planned and paid for that stuff like cremation and during the planning I was able to ask for no funeral or obituary which is nice to control.

I would choose plastination, but unfortunately this is not compatible with suicide. In the end it will probably be excarnation, because I plan to hang myself in a remote forest. When my corpse is finally found, only a skeleton is left.

I Don't Know What Category
Diamonds: Creating synthetic diamonds from ashes.
Frisbee: Ashes made into disk
man i fucking loled especially these being in the same "category". jesus, i never thought of being made into something but who wants to be a goddamn frisbee? is this common?!

simply, i want to be chucked into a hole in some healthy dirt and a fruit tree planted right on top immediately. i don't know which, but i like the idea of becoming a plant and then also becoming its fruit which will be eaten by many things and carried away. thus i become an omnipresent god.

Tree burial for me. I think it would be cool if graveyards were actually forests. This way we get nice trees and you also still get the bonus of a grave marker.

In all honesty, I've decided. Cremation and turning into ashes like I have specified previously. And then I want my ashes to be mixed with ash in a volcano🥳

I think being buried is extremely selfish, you tie your family to that place for the rest of their lives. And you indefinitely take up some land. Same goes for any mourning place. If you must be buried, have an unmarked grave somewhere that no one knows about.

Honestly I would prefer being buried in the woods I grew up in on my grandparents property.

I don't need anything special, just a nice spot in the woods with a modest grave stone. I would prefer to have a natural stone from the woods just be engraved with my information.

When the time comes that no family is left, I'll be forgotten, and truly one with the woods again.

With the land being a massive hill attached to a branching creek from a protected river, I don't have to worry about my patch of woods being developed over. I will be one with the woods forever.
