Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

hello, i've recently been getting back to self harming in the physical way, more specifically cutting, and i feel like i've forgotten how to do it if that makes sense. just exactly how deep can i cut ? is it really that bad if i hit a vein? this might be a stupid question but last time i was hospitalized they accidentally popped my vein when doing an iv and i was fine. kinda just looking for the rush not full on killing myself (for now lol)

My understanding is that you can cut down to fat before it starts to become a problem. Once you hit muscle or bone, you need medical care, it's not something you can treat reliably at home.

Last time I cut myself I went to the fat layer and was fine, some glue fixed everything up. I don't think hitting a vein is a super big deal unless it's an artery. But your mileage may vary.

If you're at fat or if your cut is gaping, you need to be really careful about not getting an infection. stitches or dermabond are really useful for these kind of cuts and the scarring is way better than if you let it heal without them.

if you cut a vein, it kinda depends on how bad the bleeding is. do whatever you can to stop the bleeding. if it stops, that's good and clean properly. don't use rubbing alcohol since it'll damage your tissue. if the bleeding doesn't stop, you need to go to the hospital. if you hit an artery, you need to do to a hospital ASAP

arteries are deeper than veins and the blood spurts out rhythmically with your heart beat so it should be easy to notice.

you probably know the drill, but make sure to watch for signs for infection since you're tryna cut deep
