Help High nitrate levels in aquarium nitrite test.

I just did a test, and while I got the expected nitrite score, I also got a very high nitrate score. By any chance, was I sold sodium nitrate?
Testing for 50 mg/L, if that means anything
The top indicator checks for nitrate, and the one under it checks for nitrite

I have. Went pretty dark, too. I still plan on using it; I don't think nitrate poisoning is very severe at this dosage from what I read, so the nitrite levels will still probably do me in.
