I thought about posting this in the games section but, it's probably going to be less fun and more philosophical than a game.

Do you ever come across news stories where you're not sure whether to cheer the person on, or feel appalled?

To start of, what do you think about this guy?

Bearing in mind, he did try to argue his case through the proper channels and it seems as though they were requesting the impossible from him. He didn't kill anyone- apart from himself at the end. Although, it looked like he did take guns with him.

I suppose I do admire his ingenuity and just the gal of it really. Although, he probably did end up disrupting people's lives who likely had nothing to do with his plight.

The obvious one is Batman I suppose. Do you support vigilantism in any way? I think in my heart, I probably do. Although, I can see why it could cause so many problems in the real world. We're supposed to have laws to make things fair. It gets wobbly when individuals decide they know what's best.

Have there been any cases where you found yourself siding with the criminal?

I think for many of us in the u.s including me it was hard not to hear details of the Louis Mangione case, where he killed a united healthcare CEO, and not think - yeah I get it. Good for him. I can't condone what he did, but so many of us have awful health insurance experiences that it was almost like a relief someone took a stand. without the rest of us needing to get punished.

I know what you mean. While it's always personal when someone gets injured or killed, so ultimately- we can't condone it- with a few exceptions- Hitler maybe. It does send a very strong signal to others who would maybe emulate him (the CEO,) in that- maybe people are less willing to be shafted by these companies/ people these days.

Not that I agree with rioting and, definitely not looting but, it shows that if the majority does protest, it has the numbers to do a lot of damage.

Not that I suspect any of this really keeps people in check. Hell- if our own regulatory boards fail- Boeing and Dupont are classic examples there. What hope have we?
