It's quite interesting to see a major Hollywood movie that addresses the subject of suicide. Tom Hanks plays a recently retired man who lost his wife to cancer six months prior. I don't think I've ever seen a movie that addresses the subject of suicide quite like this.

This movie was recently added to Netflix.

I watched it after I saw Tom Hanks on a talkshow promoting it. I thought it sounded interesting. I had no idea There was a suicidal element so I was just thrilled about that and it made the movie even better!

i love the film! it's super heartwarming, it tackles different themes, a healthy portrayal of community's role in pulling people back from the edge of despair. some people may think that the tone shifting too abruptly between dark humor and somberness makes it harder for the emotional weight to fully land yet i dont mind it at all

I didn't see that one. But I've seen and experienced something similar in some way to "Everyone wants to be John Malcovich". You know the feeling and often the proof of everything you do (online in this case) is being watched by some stalkers, who if they ask you will always rationalize something good. but it isn't. The worst thing about this is that I'm serious.

Loved it. It was a remake of a Swedish movie, also worth a view: A Man Called Ove (on Tubi).

I have never seen the movie, but a former colleague talked about and I bought the book. I should really read it
