With Full there is no turning back.. (unless someone rescues you or the rope or your anchor point breaks)

Partial is more complicated, you can read all the failed attempts here.

The death mechanism is the same, only the position of the body varies due to the anchor point.

Full applies greater pressure. It also has no reasonable options for escaping.

partial is easier to set up, harder to pull off and actually die. full is harder to set up, but once you get it right, death is nearly guaranteed.

well, it's weird. because i read a very very official statistic from a dot gov site,
which said more people die from partial hanging than full suspension.
but people on here say the opposite. so idk which one is true.

i posted the link in here before, can't find it in my history rn.

it was from thailand, going from like 2013 to 2024, i believe it was.
like i said, from a dot gov site

the only thing i'm afraid of is my eyes popping out like a god damn cartoon, because i saw pictures of that when i was younger.
and that was before Ai... and it looked really really real.
i was frightened forever, i dont want somebody to find me like that.
so i would personally try to go for partial.
but probably not hanging at all.

all i really wanna do is the BBQ method... i just don't have the things i need right now.
such as a car

The wording hanging for beginners makes only sense with regard to non lethal hanging. It's a usp of hanging, that one can do this and a good way to become familiar with this methode.
You can hang yourself only once lethally, so in this case everybody is a beginner.

Most people who die by hanging (more than half) do so with ligature points below neck/hip (I'm referencing a paper off the top of my head) ie partial

People on this site have very different goals/mindsets compared to those who are in the moment of impulse ctb, mainly thinking/planning, which leads to different preferences (I never heard of SN before this site but it seems like it was a really decent method before it was nerfed)

yeah except we do share the wish to die.
and yes SN also seems to me, to have been, and still is (i guess), a relatively painless way to die.
at least it's fast.
