Method Gunshot with subsequent fall from height?

Sorry if this was asked before. You get on a roof of a tall building, stand on the edge and shoot yourself in the head. Your body falls and finishes the job.

Questions:
1. Would that combination work? Seems like it's impossible to live through.
2. Has anyone even tried it?

Haha I've thought about this before but it's a very bad idea.

1. Seems overkill. You can possibly live, the recoil of the gun misses your head completely, but you fall over backwards and land feet first, then you're a paraplegic.

2. I've tried it before on Skyrim, but I instead took an arrow to the knee .
