I got a job at McDonalds because it's right next to my house and I don't have to pretend to be happy like I would if I was a server or something. Excited because now I can fill the time and make money to eventually afford to CBT, whatever that means. I don't have a set plan right now since I found out I can't buy a gun… it's still my preferred method and if I buy one privately from someone I still can but I'm not sure how I would make that happen. This is the very first job I've had that has asked me to take out my septum piercing, I've worked in offices and with kids and it wasn't something they even seemed worried about.

Sounds awful. Yeah, those jobs tend to be some of the most asshole-ish with high expectations. They assume you have no other options and entrap you with that + low wages so you literally can't afford to leave. I worked at Culver's for a year, and sucked up to the manager, so often they'd just call me in or reschedule me to cover other people's shifts out of the blue. If I declined or didn't show up they'd act all childish and high and mighty about it.

I left that job because, fuck that. I guess if you're only their to get the funds to CTB it gets the job done. You said you've worked in office spaces and with children, may I ask what made you quit?

Mental health issues didn't allow me to keep up and also general self sabotage I suppose.

Ah, well I hope things improve for you whether that means CTB or keeping on living and finding some sort of reason to do so. Not qualified to give advice but, even though you struggle mentally you're still human. Don't let anybody walk all over you.

Funny how it works out like that haha, kinda confirms the whole we're only here to keep the cogs turning thing.

Worked at McD's for quite a while myself. I actually enjoyed it when the right people were there. Have some good memories of some great coworkers and some crazy managers (in a good way). It sucked at times too because literally no one wants to be there doing the work but at least it is a paycheck! Bonus: If you work grill enough you will be able to do a fun party trick of touching just about anything hot with your bare hands. To this day I still pull things out of the microwave without mitts much to my friends' horror. 😆

I worked at Wendy's for two years post hospitalization and I loved it. I can't make any promises but you might find your niche there. The restaurant industry tends to be a safe place/second chance for all types of misfits. It's oddly healing.

I don't know if there's a world where I could enjoy working
