I haven't seen this "method" talked about. I would understand why as it may potentially involve harm to another person. But it can also be a method thats on the plus side made to look like an accident. I see people die from getting hit after jay walking. And the car that hit them gets free of charges.
Ofcourse it might go one way or the other leaving you with some serious injuries but not death.
So just for curiosity sake (my preferred is SN) what would be the correct way to get hit

The body is a lot more durable and resilient than people think it is. This isn't a method because you can't plan anything. There are far too many variables and possibilities. Not to mention the trauma you can leave an innocent person.

I don't have an issue causing trauma to anyone, at least not anymore. But, other poster is right that there are too many variables out of your control. It's just not reliable enough a method. You'd probably end up just maimed, possibly vegetative, and worse off than you are now.

Too like to survive, and be seriously injured afterwards. Not to mention how the driver would feel. Find something else.

some people have no other options unfortunately than trains or semis on the highway. i know of one person who had no other option but crawling out to a highway and using what little ability they had left to somehow get in front of a semi. they used to be a member here. benzo brain damage they had no other choice. less suicide than euthanasia, or most correct murder by Rx industry.

You might very well cause death or injury to the perfectly innocent driver and/passengers. Not to say long-term trauma. As others have said, find something else.

It:s not the most reliable method and there are a lot of factors to take account: size of car, speed, etc.
Also, you would make a trauma to that person and maybe even make someone being accused of murder.
Also, you can make them suffer trauma to people on street that I dont think they deserved.

If a wave of suicides under cars became a widespread phenomenon, drivers wouldn't just slow down to avoid becoming unwilling instruments of tragedy—they would start living in constant fear of legal troubles. Every driver would find themselves trapped in an endless dilemma: What if someone throws themselves under my car? Beyond the psychological trauma, they would have to deal with endless bureaucracy, police interrogations, lawsuits, and, in the worst case, even charges of involuntary manslaughter.
At that point, to avoid the risk of ruining their lives, drivers would drastically reduce their speed, turning the streets into a utopia of caution. Cities would be filled with cars crawling at a snail's pace, rear-end collisions would drop to a minimum, and insurance companies, no longer able to squeeze money out of reckless drivers, would find themselves in crisis.
The suicidal person, on the other hand, would face an unexpected problem: cars too slow to guarantee an immediate death and drivers too paranoid to offer them the fatal impact they desire. Thus, the paradox would complete itself: suicides would vanish, the roads would become safer, and for the first time in history, the fear of the unexpected would lead to the triumph of caution.

True it's not impossible. And It's definitely not my preferred method as indicated in the post. This is just an open ended experiment

😂 This would be a really interesting scenario to observe. Maybe cities would shift entirely to prioritize pedestrians and finally become more walkable all in the name of suicide by car trends.

This question comes up fairly frequently and we should have a stock page for it to link to, but I'm to lazy to write one so whatever.

If you get hit by a passenger car at high speed it will do major damage to the car, possibly even totaling it. Body panels from the hood to the trunk would be damaged as your body tumbles across it, and the windshield would probably be smashed. Would you walk up to a stranger's car with a baseball bat and start smashing it? It's not any better to do that to someone's car with your body, even if you're suffering. Even if insurance covers the damage, it would still be a major disruption for the person while their car is in the shop for weeks or months. Not to mention the trauma which others have already pointed out.

If you really didn't have other options, jumping in front of a heavy duty semi truck would be best. I would go find a highway with logging trucks, since they tend to have extra reinforcement in front if they're operating off-road. It would still impact the driver, these are just working class people trying to make a living and this isn't something they signed up for. But the cab and windshield of a big truck is much higher off the ground and the flat grille wouldn't fling your body upwards, so I don't think they'd see very much of the collision itself, and there probably wouldn't be much damage.

Why would anyone seriously consider this? If you don't care about involving unwilling people, or the violence level at least use a train. Ideally not just jumping in front of it either, wait till it is close and lay your neck across the rail. 100% chance of death, minimal chance of complications or agony, and while you likely would still traumatize the driver it would probably be made significantly less severe due to the limited control they actually have in that scenario as opposed to a road vehicle and would be much less likely to cause a legal problem for them.

Google and science is your friend.
There's a certain mileage, that gives you a 69% change of death. Certain cars are more involved in fatal accidents. Etc...
Google can tell you that if you research the right things. I don't know what's considered assistance with CTB, so I'm not going to blatantly say it, but obviously the faster the car the most likely you'll die. The more weight the car has the more impact it has. Etc....

But what was interesting is, it's not the impact that is more likely to kill you, but the fall so take that for what it is.

It sounds extremely painful and you risk being stuck as a paralyzed vegetable.

Like everyone said, most of us are trying to avoid traumatizing people with our departure.
