Discussion Getting high in the 3rd world

Unfortunately, I live in the Philippines and was also raised here. I think it used to be the case that the Philippines was THE number one importer of crystal meth or shabu.

But, during the administration of war crimes- convicted and general tyrant, Rodrigo Duterte's administration, drug addicts were shot en masse and killed indiscriminately — along with opposition critics. (One was even killed near my former home in the capital region, and their body was dumped in a black, plastic garbage bag.)

So, now, everything's regulated. Even benzodiazepines. I had serious problems getting even prescribed benzodiazepines because the consumption schedules did not align and now I have to ration my xanax for benzo OD when I CTB.

But not if you're wealthy as fuck.

Bongbong "Bobo" Marcos, son of former tyrant Ferdinand Marcos Sr. was recently claimed to be using such drugs as opioids (specifically, Fentanyl). This was an accusation levied against him by former ally, funnily enough, Rodrigo Duterte.

If you watch BBM in Facebook and such, often you'll see him in this almost euphoric state. He'll be laughing randomly or look like he's high. I think that confirms that he's likely a drug user. Consider that for one moment, if your president uses drugs and doesn't get persecuted but literal thousands of struggling addicts get killed for no fucking reason.

The systemic issues were not addressed, i.e. WHY there are addicts in the first place. I mean, sure, take away the marijuana but people will then move on to crack. Then onto more dangerous shit. It's a stupid, looney tunes- esque drug arms race. Just let people get high but controlled, like in 1st world nations.

Getting high in the Philippines is fucking difficult. But I heard elsewhere that it's easy to get. Like Thailand has lots of weed shops, I think. Myanmar has a booming drug trade because of the collapse of the civic government and the ongoing conflict. But I don't know what it's like elsewhere, so members of SaSu from the 3rd world, how do you get high? Or what's your experience with drugs/what is the national perception?

Also in ph. I haven't tried yet, but I'm currently in college and you can get weed easily if you know the right people. You can also find people who sell lsd online, and dxm (cough syrup) is sold in like every pharmacy, if you can stomach the taste. I don't know about the harder drugs since I'm not really interested, but dxm has honestly been keeping me alive for years.

I don't have much else to say besides agreeing with you that the drug policies here should be more lenient. There being 0 empathy for struggling addicts and the stigma surrounding it only makes it harder them to recover, and just pushes them deeper and deeper into the addiction. I wish people here were just more empathetic in general really

Damn, I wish I knew the right people. I wanna try weed kasi it's guaranteed ata na non-gateway drug (may research dito, nalimutan ko lang). But when I used to be an activist may kakilala ako, who said he smoked weed during his bday. I guess there's something to be said about colleges and student self experimentation and drugs (phenomenon that dates back to like the 60's)

Dxm does sound fun but scary. Ayun yata yung benadryl, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Dxm isn't scary in my experience, as long as you don't take too much for your body weight. It makes me feel super calm and like everything is going to be alright. Whenever I take it, I just spend the whole high laying in bed, listening to music, and enjoying the visuals. The worst thing about it is the possibility of puking since I think vicks is the only viable brand available in ph, and it tastes like assssssssss

Haven't tried weed yet either, but I do want to try at least once. I remember reading studies too that it's not chemically addictive, and yeah, college just feels like the right time to experiment.

I would also like to try it as well, though. I need a coping mechanism with more kick than plain cigarettes and alcohol. If that's your experience, (even if it's not the whole experience) then I'm intrigued and feel like it'll be worth a try. Getting high sounds fun, yk? There is so much stigma about even the most surface level drugs. I'll be willing to try even if vick's tastes like ahh tysm

truthh, I know a bunch of people here in Luzon that dye their hair during college and trying all sorts of stuff. That's the spirit I want but I first need SHS curriculum before I get into the fun crowd

also that makes me wonder if the DXM can be synthesized, but if that's possible, then it's possible only DW vendors have it... cough syrup it is, then ty
