Method General question about "Night-Night" method

So, I'm pretty sure that I understand the mechanics of this method, the anatomy, and how it should feel if you are doing it correctly. My plan is two use two cornhole bags and a ratchet strap as described in the dedicated thread for this method; however, I have been struggling to find the "sweet spot" by using the index and middle fingers on each of my hands. Is it easier to find the spot with the materials already in hand, or should I continue searching for this spot with my fingers before I actually trying it with the materials? Any help is appreciated!
