Friendly gaming chat

I have a friend who has muscular dystrophy and is really struggling just now.
He's a great bloke with a fantastic sense of humour and massively intelligent,just really feeling alone.
He just needs to make some friends and his biggest interest is gaming.

He says he's into "Shooters, RPGs, RTS, platformers, survival horror".
I'm just looking for a place online where he could find a good mix of male and female gamers that would make him feel welcome.
If such a place exists and you'd be prepared to say,I'd be very grateful.
He really just deserves to have some happiness.

Yes. Every so often I will load up the original starcraft and play a custom game with lots of npcs and will enter infinite resources cheat so that I can try to keep all sides in the game for as long as I can.


I ate too many cookies and misread and thought you meant here. I guess that could be a little morbid of an environment but folks here seem pretty chill despite obvious intolerance between some users. But I can see this forum being good for people who are struggling with things generally. Here?

Other than mmo's, Town of Salem is a social roleplaying game, or maybe more antisocial. It's about hanging people or trying to get yourself hanged.

Sorry if I'm not being as clear as I could. The interest is gaming but it's more the social aspects of a forum/chatroom that he is looking for.

I play counter strike global offensive but the community is a bit toxic sometimes.

Warframe. The community is one of the nicest you'll ever encounter in a video game. You may encounter a toxic person every now and then but that's it really. There are hundreds of clans he could join up with that will give him friendship.

The game is a shooter/RPG hybrid with MMO elements. It's free to play but you can get pretty much everything without paying. The only thing that requires money is cosmetics that makes your armor and weapons look a bit better than everyone else.

Edit: The game has a global text chat system on all platforms if that's what he's looking for. The official website also has forums that are active.

Any online game these days are filled with toxic people especially in world chat and competitive PVP. I used to play Guild Wars 2 a lot, got involved with a great guild with friendly people and it was a great time. It helped to pass time and enjoy the camaraderie when real life was lonely. I find that online games that don't have a PVP element to it are quite peaceful.
