This afternoon, I took my sweet little guy (dog) out into the back yard when he "told" me he needed to go out. We played fetch, he loves to play! It was a beautiful fall day, cool, dry, sunny, blue sky, white fluffy clouds. The huge apple tree is loaded with apples and their scent fills the air. It is apple picking time. I pick up the apples that have fallen, any with worm holes or bird pecks, I throw over the fence for the deer. They love them and are eating everything they can reach to get them through the coming snowy winter. It was such a peaceful evening.
My little friend was sniffing around, and I thought, "All these apples! I can only eat so many, what a waste! If I just knew people who might want them..."
And that is when I fantasized, what if some of you could be here, enjoy this lovely day, maybe bbq? Burgers and hot dogs and grilled veggies? Mingle around, have apple throwing contests, breathe in the fresh apple scented air, play cards or dominoes on the back porch, and just enjoy the peace, stare at the nearby mountains. Sigh. I can only wish to share those peaceful moments with you.
