In the video, he walked to the slag spray port during the smelting operation which was glowing red due to the high temperature.

Standing at side of the port, he peeked into it, took off his hat, walked a few more steps toward the converter, jumped and disappeared in the video.

"He is gone all at once," said a voice in the video which is a shot from surveillance footage.

The time in the footage appears to be Wednesday March 24, 2021 but the exact time of the incident cannot be determined as the image is not clear and incomplete.

The footage was apparently taken from surveillance video of the No. 7 converter of the steelworks.

Many netizens grieved over the heartbreaking image of the worker jumping into the high temperature molten steel and were concerned about the reasons behind the incident.

The fact that these factories have anti-suicide nets because their workers keep jumping to their deaths should tell us something. All the overpriced iphones and handbags people love so much have to be made somewhere. Usually in places with terrible working conditions. It is modern day slavery.

Damn, I can't believe some people choose such brutal methods to CBT with. Poor man must've been in so much pain to choose such an excruciating death. Rest in Peace

I have never even heard of anyone ctb that way. It sounds so painful, it just shows what this world can drive people to do, they become that desperate.

It must be quite common...

I've seen 3-4 videos over the years where workers (in other steel plants) did the exact same thing. Some even had "aftermath" pictures, that showed limbs were still fully intact, proving that it's not "instant vaporisation" (I'm assuming to deter others otherwise I don't understand how such CCTV videos make it on the internet).

Still... what a painful way to go :notsure:

It's horrifying that he was driven to suicide :mmm:, but I don't think his brain had time to register any pain before it was destroyed
