Cyanide seems to be a quick and painless death but I have no idea how to manufacture it.

HCN from apple seeds is metabolized from amygdalin in the digestive system, from crushed apple seeds. So the simplest way is to eat them. I couldn't find anything past anecdotal evidence that anyone has ever died this way. The amount of HCN produced from apple seeds is miniscule.
