The nets are more like chain link fences and it's a fall to get there. It would be very painful to jump off the GGB and land on them.

Yes, I remember reading they designed them like this purposely basically outright saying that if you try it, you are just going to get seriously hurt. I think I also remember reading around that time that they were going to stop making public the number of suicides there. So I wonder if we will ever know how much the nets worked even if it was just to deter people
