I often have nightmares about suicide and/or survival. Just woke up from one.

When I go to sleep, there is 70% chance my dream will be about war or some kind of apocalypse, and I will either try to survive and save someone, in which case I usually die in this dreams, or I kill myself out of desperation.

Every time I wake up tired as fuck because of these nightmares. I bet you guys often have nightmares, too. What are those about? Does anyone have a way to get rid of them?

Every night. Last night I was in the city, Large parts were a ghost town I was wondering about, I took the elevator down to the subway, and it crushed me alive like that Apple iPad advert.

I don't know any way to get rid of them unfortunately.

oh god yes i do, yours don't sound too dissimilar to mine. mine are largely about social rejection and execution and apocalypse and sometimes about people i no longer want to talk to. ive had one pleasant dream recently but the rest have been nightmares, and i dream much more often than i used to so its very unsettling to me

this is probably not good advice but i am also very forgetful, and i often end up forgetting them after i wake up. but god some of them are bad enough to stick around for much much longer

Ohhh yes, ghost towns, had a couple of those dreams myself. They suck.

Some of these dreams are so stressful that they feel kinda traumatic? Like you've just been through a very real and very difficult situation.

I, myself, dont have dreams as often as before anymore. I have around 1 or 2 dreams per month, where back in the days I used to dream practically every day. And back then, those dreams were mainly nightmares, where either I died, or people close to me died. I stopped dreaming often after Ive lost contacts with all the people, as before sleep, the only thing I really think about is either suicide, or hate on myself and on how stupid, pathetic and useless I am.

I rarely ever remember my dreams anymore. With how horrible of insomnia I have I doubt I get deep enough into sleep very often to have full dreams. On the rare (and I mean a few times a year rare) occasion that I remember my dreams they are often unpleasant. Not nightmares perse, not scary enough for that. But enough for me to wake up with a bitter taste in my mouth. My last dream I could remember I had ended up in the psych ward and was on my best behavior, doing everything that I could to be able to get out, but they kept pushing back my discharge date no matter how well I acted. I was stuck in there. That one was awful.

I used to lucid dream every night. I didn't even know what lucid dreaming was until I was older, but I did it naturally since I was a child. Nightmares weren't really a thing for me because if a dream became something scary I would simply remind myself that it was a dream and that I could take control and turn it into whatever I wanted. Sometime after I tried to hang myself and was started on every psych med under the sun when I was 13/14 I lost my ability to dream.

I don't really dream about anything anymore. Not sure what that means.

Yes! Usually I spend months without getting them but when they come it's more than one per night for like a Full week. Most of them involve people being cruel to me, it's specially upseting when they involve my ex. Yesterday I dreamed that my house was on fire and no one cared enough to help me put it down.
